Southwest Airlines announced this week that it is expanding service at Nashville International Airport (BNA) to offer three new nonstop flight routes to Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos, Mexico; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Indianapolis, beginning next year.
Daily flights will commence from BNA to the Indianapolis International Airport on March 6, 2025.
Weekly Saturday flights to Mexico’s Los Cabos International Airport and the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana Airport will begin on March 8, 2025.

“Time to get those spring break trips on the calendar,” BNA wrote in a social media post advertising the three new nonstop routes.
Southwest first began service to BNA on March 18, 1986, with eight daily nonstop departures to Chicago’s Midway Airport and Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport at the time.
Since then, the airline has grown to be the largest carrier at BNA.
Last year, Southwest announced the addition of a Crew Base at BNA, marking the airline company’s 12th Crew Base in its system, as previously reported by The Tennessee Star.
The Crew Base, expected to launch by the end of the year, will house an estimated 500-700 flight attendants and 150-200 pilots. Continued growth plans are on the horizon to eventually house 500-600 pilots.
“Hundreds of Southwest Employees who work in the air and on the ground already consider their hometown to be in Middle Tennessee, with our presence in Nashville remaining a key factor to our success, future growth, and the Reliability of our network,” Andrew Watterson, COO at Southwest Airlines said at the time.
“Given our love for Nashville and the critical importance it plays in our network, it’s a natural choice to make further investments by adding a Crew Base and doubling down on our commitment to Music City,” Watterson added.
